વડાપ્રધાન નરેન્દ્ર મોદીએ ફરી એકવાર ભગવાન બુદ્ધનો વિશ્વને શાંતિનો સંદેશ આપ્યો છે. અભિધમ્મ દિવસ નિમિત્તે પોતાના સંબોધનમાં વડાપ્રધાન મોદીએ કહ્યું કે, આ પવિત્ર દિવસ આપણને કરુણા અને સદ્ભાવનાની યાદ અપાવે છે. આનાથી આપણે દુનિયાને વધુ સારી બનાવી શકીએ છીએ તેમણે કહ્યું કે અગાઉ 2021માં કુસીનગરમાં પણ આવો જ કાર્યક્રમ યોજવામાં આવ્યો હતો. હું ભાગ્યશાળી છુ કે મેં પણ આ કાર્યક્રમમાં ભાગ લીધો હતો.

વડાપ્રધાન મોદીએ કહ્યું કે આજે નવા નિર્માણની સાથે સાથે આપણે આપણા ભૂતકાળને સાયવવા અને બચાવવાના અભિયાનમાં પણ વ્યસ્ત છીએ. તેમણે કહ્યું કે છેલ્લા દસ વર્ષમાં અમે વિશ્વના વિવિધ દેશોમાંથી 600 થી વધુ પ્રાચીન વારસો, કલાકૃતિઓ અને અવશેષો ભારતમાં પાછા લાવ્યા છીએ. આમાંના ઘણા અવશેષો બૌદ્ધ ધર્મ સાથે સંબંધિત છે. એટલે કે, ભારત બુદ્ધના વારસાના પુનરુજ્જીવનમાં તેની સંસ્કૃતિ અને સભ્યતાને નવેસરથી રજૂ કરી રહ્યું છે.

વડનગર બૌદ્ધ ધર્મનું કેન્દ્ર હતું
વડાપ્રધાન મોદીએ કહ્યું કે આ મારું સૌભાગ્ય છે કે મારા જન્મથી શરૂ થયેલી ભગવાન બુદ્ધ સાથેના સહવાસની યાત્રા સતત ચાલુ છે મારો જન્મ ગુજરાતના વડનગરમાં થયો હતો, જે એક સમયે બૌદ્ધ ધર્મનું મહાન કેન્દ્ર હતું.

તેમણે કહ્યું કે છેલ્લા દસ વર્ષમાં હું ભારતના ઐતિહાસિક બૌદ્ધ તીર્થસ્થાનોથી લઈને વિશ્વના વિવિધ દેશોમાં અનેક પવિત્ર ઘટનાઓમાં સામેલ થયો છુ, જેમ કે નેપાળમાં ભગવાન બુદ્ધના જન્મસ્થળની મુલાકાત, મોંગોલિયામાં તેમની પ્રતિમાનું અનાવરણ અને શ્રીલંકામાં વેસાકની ઉજવણી કરવાની તક મળી.

શરદ પૂર્ણિમા-વાલ્મીકિ જયંતિ નિમિત્તે અભિનંદન
આ સાથે વડાપ્રધાન મોદીએ પણ દેશવાસીઓને શરદ પૂર્ણિમા અને વાલ્મીકિ જયંતિની શુભકામનાઓ પાઠવી હતી. તેમણે કહ્યું કે શરદ પૂર્ણિમાનો પવિત્ર તહેવાર છે અને આજે ભારતીય ચેતનાના મહાન ઋષિ વાલ્મીકિજીની જન્મજયંતિ પણ છે. આ એક અનોખો સંયોગ છે.
